Classics Revisited: In collaboration with Reads and Rendezvous
Description
Why do some books stay with us for generations, while others begin to feel like the classics of the future?
This session places classic literature alongside contemporary writing with similar themes, emotions, or cultural relevance. One possible pairing is Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Sally Rooney’s Normal People.
Rather than closely analysing the books, the conversation will focus on personal responses, shared reading experiences, and the feelings that stories can carry across different times and generations.
You are welcome to bring a favourite classic, a contemporary book you consider timeless, or any recommendations you would like to share with the group. No prior reading is required.
