Drawing on case studies from the USEK Museum\, the lecture highlights conservation as both a technical and human commitment to preserving heritage\, while also examining how museums communicate these stories through exhibitions\, education\, and public engagement.

SUMMARY:Funky Portraits: Deconstructing the Face with Batool Al Tamimi
DESCRIPTION:A playful exploration of portraiture through collage and abstraction. Join us at Bassam Freiha Art Foundation for a creative parent and child workshop led by Batool Al Tamimi. Participants will explore portraiture through observation and imagination\, creating playful “funky” faces using collage and mixed media. \n  \nWorking side by side\, parent and child will work with pre-cut face bases to cut\, layer\, and rearrange features such as eyes\, noses\, and hair\, experimenting with proportion\, expression\, and abstraction. Optional materials including yarn and textured paper will allow for further creative exploration. \n  \nPlease note that the minimum age requirement for children is 7 years old.
