22 April @ 5:30 PM
Join us for an immersive workshop where you will learn the expressive power of charcoal through still-life drawing. Guided by renowned Emirati artist Abdulrahim Salim, this workshop will explore how to build form, texture, and light using only black and white. You will develop techniques to control shadows, highlights, and composition—leading to the creation of two complete charcoal artworks.
Note: This is a two-session workshop taking place on 22 April and 25 April, 5:30 pm on both days.

Born in Dubai in 1955, Abdulrahim Salem is a pioneering Emirati artist whose practice evolved from figuration to abstraction in the 1990s. His work often draws on Muheera, a folkloric muse from Sharjah, reimagined through abstract forms and symbols.
A leading figure of Emirati abstraction, Salem has exhibited internationally, including the 56th Venice Biennale (2015), and received the UAE State Honour Award for Fine Arts in 2008.
