Description

Bassam Freiha Art Foundation continued its monthly lecture series, The Story of Art, with a session dedicated to the expressive and dynamic world of Baroque art. Led by Dr. Michaela Watrelot, the lecture explored the emotional intensity, grandeur, and theatricality that define this pivotal artistic period.

Through an engaging visual overview, the session examined how Baroque artists used light, movement, and dramatic composition to evoke powerful responses and bring spiritual and human narratives to life. The lecture invited attendees to consider how Baroque art reflects the complexity of human experience, bridging earthly reality with divine inspiration.

As part of The Story of Art series, this session followed the Renaissance lecture and will be succeeded by “The Mirror of Nature: Baroque art,” continuing the Foundation’s commitment to accessible art education and cultural enrichment.
