  • Mazen Chedid

Mazen is a hyperrealistic charcoal artist based in the UAE whose work explores the human form, facial emotions, light, and texture with surgical precision. Drawn to hyperrealism for its discipline and honesty, he sees it not as a style but as a way of observing and understanding truth in detail. His practice is grounded in patience and technical rigor, using layers of charcoal to build depth and presence in each piece. For Mazen, hyperrealism is more than replication. It’s about slowing down, noticing the hidden emotions in portraits, and bringing a sense of stillness and intensity to the paper. In a contemporary art world where hyperrealism is rare, his mission is to keep the craft alive, respected, and relevant.
