In this immersive session, participants will explore the expressive potential of epoxy resin, a medium that transforms colour, texture, and transparency into luminous, glass-like compositions. Nat Bowen

Nat Bowen is a British contemporary artist whose work is rooted in Chromology, the psychological and emotional study of colour. Her practice explores how colour can act as a form of non-verbal communication, eliciting physical and emotional responses shaped by the viewer’s perception and lived experience.

Bowen works primarily with pigmented epoxy resin, which she pours and layers onto acrylic surfaces using a slow, meditative process. The resulting abstract compositions are luminous and responsive to light, reflecting and absorbing their surroundings. Her creative process encourages detachment from technology and a return to mindfulness, which she extends to the viewer through her immersive works.

Her interest in rare and meaningful pigments has led her to incorporate materials such as pure Lapis Lazuli from Afghanistan, volcanic earth from Iceland, and meteorite dust over 4 billion years old. She is also known for sculptural resin works embedded with crushed diamonds, including Black Diamond and Pink Diamond.

Bowen studied at London College of Fashion, where she created fashion collections using her own manipulated artworks as textiles. This background informs her approach to material, surface, and presentation. In 2021, she relocated her studio to Dubai, where she continues to develop her practice and international collaborations.
