Sumaira Ashik

Sumaira Mohammed Ashik is a Dubai-based licensed calligraphy artist and abstract painter, recognized for her signature fusion of metallic textured abstracts and Arabic calligraphy. Originally from India and trained as an electronics engineer, she transitioned into a full-time artistic career after discovering her passion for calligraphy seven years ago. Through self-study and practice, she developed a unique artistic language that blends classical scripts with bold textures, earthy tones, and layered surfaces.

Her work spans large-scale Islamic abstract paintings, live event performances, and collaborations with luxury brands and high-profile events across the region. With over 300 students taught through workshops and courses, Sumaira is also a sought-after instructor. Her collections have been featured in residences, galleries, retail spaces, and royal events across the GCC, making her art both collectible and accessible.
